Vaccines
Flu shots, COVID boosters, and pediatric vaccines at Pharm-Aid — what we offer, where, and how
Walk-in, appointment, insurance, no insurance — here's exactly what vaccines Pharm-Aid offers at our three Florida locations, who can get them, and what they cost.
Vaccines are one of the simplest, cheapest, and most effective things you can do for your family's health. They're also one of the most confusing — which one do I need, where do I get it, do I need an appointment, does my insurance cover it?
Here's a clean answer for our three Florida locations.
What we offer
| Vaccine | Who it's for | Walk-in or appointment? |
|---|---|---|
| Flu (influenza) | Everyone 6 months and older | Walk-in, every day during flu season (Sept–April) |
| COVID-19 boosters | Everyone 6 months and older | Walk-in, year-round |
| Pneumonia (PCV15, PCV20, PPSV23) | Adults 65+, and adults with certain conditions | Walk-in or appointment |
| Shingles (Shingrix) | Adults 50+ (2-dose series) | Walk-in or appointment |
| Tdap (tetanus / pertussis booster) | Adults every 10 years; pregnant women each pregnancy | Walk-in |
| Hepatitis A & B | Travelers, adults at risk | Appointment recommended |
| HPV (Gardasil 9) | Ages 9–45 | Appointment |
| Travel vaccines (typhoid, yellow fever consult) | Anyone traveling internationally | Appointment, ideally 4–6 weeks before travel |
| Pediatric routine immunizations | Children following CDC schedule | Appointment |
What it costs
With insurance, vaccines are typically $0 out of pocket. The Affordable Care Act requires most health plans to cover ACIP-recommended vaccines at no cost when given by an in-network provider. We're in-network with all the major plans.
Without insurance, our cash prices are competitive:
- Flu shot: $25–$45 depending on type (regular vs. high-dose for 65+)
- COVID booster: covered by federal program; $0 for eligible patients, otherwise $130
- Tdap: $70
- Shingrix (per dose): $200 (2 doses required)
- Pneumonia: $100–$250 depending on type
Pharm-Aid tip: even if you don't have insurance, call us before you pay full price. Vaccines for Children (VFC) covers pediatric vaccines for uninsured kids, and the federal Bridge Access Program has been covering COVID shots at $0 for uninsured adults. We help you apply at the counter.
How long it takes
Most vaccines take about 10–15 minutes total — sign in, paperwork, a quick screening conversation with the pharmacist, the shot itself, and 15 minutes of observation afterward (required for most vaccines).
You can walk into any of our locations during business hours for flu, COVID, Tdap, and shingles. For everything else, we recommend a quick appointment so we can pre-order the vaccine if we don't have it in stock.
Where to get vaccinated
All three Pharm-Aid locations offer the full vaccine list above:
- Pembroke Pines — central Broward, walk-in friendly
- Doral / Sweetwater — Miami-Dade, near MIA, good for travel vaccines
- Orlando / Kissimmee — central Florida, full pediatric services
If you need a specific vaccine in stock today, call ahead. We can usually have anything ordered within 24–48 hours if it's not on the shelf.
What to bring to your appointment
- Insurance card (or be ready to discuss cash pricing)
- Photo ID
- Vaccine record if you have one — especially for kids and for the shingles 2-dose series
- Medication list if you're on anything complex; some vaccines have interactions worth a quick pharmacist review
Common questions
Do I need to be a Pharm-Aid customer to get a vaccine here? No. Walk in or call. We vaccinate first-time visitors every day.
Can I get my flu shot and COVID booster at the same visit? Yes — the CDC confirms it's safe to get them together. We give them in different arms.
What about my kids? For routine pediatric vaccines we recommend an appointment so we can plan the visit and have the right vaccines ready. We follow the CDC immunization schedule and can talk you through what's due.
I had a bad reaction to a vaccine before — should I still get this one? That's exactly the kind of conversation worth having with a pharmacist before showing up. Call us first; we'll review with you and, if needed, talk to your doctor.
Why Pharm-Aid
Vaccines are routine — but the conversation around them shouldn't be. At our locations, the pharmacist who screens you, gives you the shot, and answers your follow-up questions is the same person each time. Bilingual, personal, and someone who remembers your name on the second visit.
Ready to come in? Walk in any day, or call us to schedule — your call is answered by a real person at the pharmacy.
